By using Betsy, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the software.

2. Description of Service

Betsy is an open-source, self-hosted AI assistant distributed under the MIT License. Users deploy and run Betsy on their own infrastructure. The Betsy project provides the software and an OAuth relay service for connecting to third-party platforms.

3. Self-Hosted Nature

Betsy runs on your server. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining your server and keeping the software updated
• Securing access to your Betsy instance
• Managing your API keys and credentials
• Complying with the terms of service of any third-party APIs you connect

4. OAuth Relay Service

We provide an OAuth relay service at auth.betsyai.io to facilitate connections to third-party platforms (Google, GitHub, etc.). This service:

• Temporarily processes OAuth tokens in memory during authorization
• Does not store any user data persistently
• Is provided "as is" without guarantees of uptime or availability

5. Third-Party Services

Betsy can connect to third-party services on your behalf. When you authorize such connections, you agree to the terms and conditions of those third-party services. We are not responsible for how third-party services handle your data.

6. Open Source License

Betsy is released under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the software according to the license terms. The full license text is available in the project repository.

7. No Warranty

Betsy is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the software will be error-free, secure, or available at all times. Use at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Betsy project and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the software.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Betsy to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on the rights of others
• Send spam or unsolicited communications
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to third-party services

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Betsy after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
